Q - R

Queen and Country Miniatures

For those who like their militias in good old-fashioned red coats, Queen and Country Miniatures sell Victorian British figures in home service uniform.

Also useful to the VBCW gamer is the fact that they also sell separate heads wearing fusilier busbies, Glengarries and Pillbox caps - very useful for head swaps!

RAFM Miniatures & Games

RAFM's 25mm Call of Cthulhu Player Characters range contains a number of figures in varying stages of sanity. Those that have yet to succumb to the unholy terror of the Elder Gods could well be useful for VBCW purposes.

Their other ranges might also be of interest, including as they do Victorian adventurers (Space:1889 range) and Metis riflemen (Riel Rebellion range).

Ratnik Miniatures (via Lead-Adventure Miniatures)

Russian miniature company Ratnik have been sculpting some astounding steam punk figures, which would be fun to have on the battlefield if you like a particularly gothic look to your VBCW armies. They have also released pictures of greens for a range of gangsters, which will be prefect for armed civilians and VBCW-era villains.

Rattrap Productions

"Rattrap Productions LLC produces a series of games we like to call Narrative Adventure games. That's a fancy name for a simple concept. Our games combine some of the best aspects of miniatures games, roleplaying games, and board games to produce an exciting and fun experience for the players."

Rattrap Productions sells some possible VBCW candidates in their .45 Adventures pulp range, including some shady looking waterfront characters, citizens, lost world explorers and possibly Deep One hybrids (rural militia for the more isolated backwaters of Britain perhaps?)

Reaper Miniatures

"Reaper Miniatures, Inc. is a leading hobby and adventure industry company. Our primary focus is the design and manufacture of pewter miniature figurines, paint and accessories for hobbyist around the world."

Not only does Reaper produce some great fantasy miniatures, but also the Chronoscope line: a range 25mm heroic scale non-fantasy, multi-genre miniatures. While not all of the figures are suitable for VBCW, it's great fun trawling through the range for those that are (including Father Thomas the vicar, Mickey O'Doul: Wild West Bartender and a nifty sprue of 20th century weapons).

Redoubt Enterprises

Redoubt Enterprises carries a number of 25/28mm ranges, from which several VBCW possibilities can be drawn. Their Boxer Rebellion range includes two packs of civilians and there are a couple of useful civilians in the Extras/Specials section of their Sudan range.

Armed civilians in slouch hats can also be found in the Cavalry, Wagon Drivers, Frontier Light Horse and Boer sections of their Zulu Wars range.
Meanwhile, a look at their Victoriana range will reveal several steam tank crew miniatures in shirtsleeves, which could possibly double up as 1930's working men. Finally, the figures in the Body`s Bits section includes a group of monks.

Recreational Conflict

Recreational Conflict's Lead Bones range contains a pack of handy shopkeepers, most of whom are bbbased on a certain BBBBBBBC cccomedy show.

Regiment Games (Link broken - no longer trading)

"Welcome to Regiment Games, home of innovative wargaming miniatures, including the premier 28mm science fiction aliens, the Drantakhs."

Regiment Game's 28mm historical range of figures includes a set of WW2 Desert Rats, suitable maybe for VBCW brigands or special forces. Additionally, naval troops could well be sourced from their British Naval Landing Party miniatures, inspired by the movie "We Dive at Dawn".

Reiver Castings

Reiver Castings are sold by Under the Bed Enterprises, who handle all mail orders.
Reiver is one of the happy few who produce 28mm miniatures specifically for VCBW. The range consists of New Model Red Army/Peoples Assault Column, British Union of Fascists, Irregular/Militia in civilian dress, and Mounted Police in Parade Uniform - the majority of which come in infantry, cavalry and command variants.

Alongside these is a range of WW1 British regulars, in steel helmet, SD cap, side cap or Glengarry. They also sell more unusual miniatures, such as regulars with Tommy guns.

If that's not all, Reiver also produce an Anglo-Irish wars range, including auxiliaries, Irish volunteers in 1916 uniform, Irish Free State Army infantry and Irish Republican Army figures in civilian clothes - all no doubt great stuff for VBCW units.

Renegade Miniatures

Renegade produce a substantial range of early and late-war WW1 miniatures that would make a welcome addition to the VBCW fan's regular units and territorials, as well as some Austrian figures that could double for BUF auxiliaries. Their WW2 range might also contain a few nuggets of usefulness too.

Reviresco/Tin Soldier

Reviresco have a few ranges that can be scoured for VBCW-ish miniatures. The Colonial Wars range includes sailors and naval artillery, great for protecting Britain's coasts.

Their Roll (sic) Play Gaming Figures also have a host of useful figures, such as a group of Chauffeurs, Flappers and Dandies, Irish Republican Army and Sailors & Nautical Types.

In their Victorian science fiction range lurk a team of figures in Captain Nemo type Fantasy Diving Suits 28mm if you feel like taking the civil war under water, while their WW1 and WW2 ranges also offer some scope for VBCW-ness.

Rif Raf Miniatures

"....all you need, is your imagination."

Rif Raf Miniatures produce a range of figures for the Spanish-Rif war of the 1920's and a smaller range of WW2 Greeks, giving the VBCW gamer more options for fielding foreign interventionists and suchlike.

Rogue Miniatures

Within Rogue miniatures' range of largely modern pulp figures can be found a couple of useful figures, including the unfortunately named 'Major Twatt' and a patriotic model of Britannia.
